Your stay at Teviotdale House
Teviotdale House is a guest house located in Edinburgh, south of the city centre. The building is a fine example of a Victorian Edinburgh town house, built in 1890. For many years it has provided first class accommodation and we aim to make your stay a very pleasant one. It is an ideal choice for sightseeing, visiting friends and relatives, business and seminars.
In our guest house you will be able to relax and unwind after a busy day. There is a calm and soothing atmosphere here and you will feel perfectly fresh after a good night‘s sleep at Teviotdale House. Situated in a quiet street in a beautiful conservation area called ‘The Grange’, Teviotdale House is conveniently located for the city centre, with good bus links a few minutes away. A bus will take you to the city centre in 10 minutes. It is also possible to walk to the Royal Mile, in the heart of the Old Town, in 25 minutes. This is a very pleasant walk that we always recommend.
Our breakfast has a wide variety of options to give you a great start to the day. We use the best fresh local products we can source for you and cater for vegetarian, gluten and lactose free diets.
We are proud to receive lots of good comments from guests who stay here and many of our guests are repeat customers. You can have a look at some reviews on TripAdvisor. We have also been awarded 4 stars by VisitScotland, the Scottish tourist board.
Teviotdale House and the environment
We are trying to do our bit for the environment. We recycle paper, plastic, cardboard, glass and metal and recently we have started recycling organic waste in our compost bin. We also try to use less energy without sacrificing comfort, so we have low energy lighting in place and have plans to take other measures.
Teviotdale House charity donations
We believe in being socially responsible and making a difference and for that reason Teviotdale House dedicates a percentage of our profits to a non-profit organisation working for positive change. We donated in 2011 and 2012 to Grassroots Arts UK. In 2013 we gave a donation to Dhanakosa Budhist Retreat Centre.
From the beginning, we have also been giving a quarterly contribution to Greenpeace for the excellent job they do.
